Ice Diving

Many of you will have seen the article on RTE news about ice diving in Galway.

Two foreign, non-CFT divers undertook this adventure.

In general, CFT divers are not trained for diving in such conditions.  Specific training and specific equipment are required for such activities.  Hazards include an overhead environment, the risk of regulators freezing and ice-breaking where a party of people congregate.

CFT Divers who are not appropriately trained, are therefore, not recommended to undertake this activity.
