Following a number of observations at the recent Diving Officers, Training Officers and Instructors conference please note the following:

a) CFT course materials (e.g. Powerpoint presentations) should not be modified in any way for presentation. Where instructors or trainee instructors believe improvements may be made, a submission should be made to the Technical Commission for approval (ndo@cft.ie) Approved changes will then be published and made available to all divers. It is important that all diving members of the federation receive the same training from the same materials.

Where instructors/trainee instructors feel additional material would enhance a lecture e.g. for demonstration purposes, they should show such material at the end of the lecture.

b) It is inappropriate for non-CFT lectures to use the CFT lecture template. Instructors/Trainee instructors should use a different template of their own choosing.

These points are applicable to all, but especially relevant to those on an M* course.
