Welcome to the NDO's webpage.

My name is Martin Kiely  and I  was elected NDO at the CFT AGM in March. I would like to introduce myself and give you an overview of my goals for this year.

I have been a member of Aughinish Diving Club and CFT for over 20 years. I have held positions of Chairperson, Diving Officer and PRO within my club and served as Regional Diving Officer in the Southwest Region for 4 years. I have continued to dive regularly, availing of specialty courses provided by CFT or other agencies, such as Search and Recovery, Extended Range, Intro Cave Diving, Rebreather Mod2 and I regularly bring my camera underwater to catch the moment.

I would like to thank the outgoing NDO, Niall Stapleton, and the TC, for all the hard work done in the last two and a half years. Niall  put in tremendous amount of work during  his tenure updating Courses and directing the TC.

My goals for this year, on which I will work tirelessly, are to get more people diving and to continue to update our Courses.  At the first TC meeting on 2 April I will outline ideas I would like to see developed. In order to achieve these aims I am looking for input and involvement from as many members as possible.  Recently I emailed Mon***s, where I had email addresses, to invite them to join steering groups which will focus on future developments. I am also extending this invitation to any members who work in relevant professions, such as Teaching or IT, who would like to be a part of the development of our sport.
