Course Guidelines

Note: Changes to the Courses & Tests Process are being ratified by the Technical Commission and will be detailed on this page in Februay once they come into effect. Please note from 1st January on all Trainee and Club Diver applications together with fees should be submitted together by the Candidte / Diving Officer and not the Examiner.

Running a Course

If you are organising a course please be sure to follow these simple guidelines. Please be aware that incomplete forms will be returned to sender for completion

1. Apply to Head Office for Course Number
2. If you require any materials please request these from Head Office
3. Please ensure you have all relevant equipment i.e Laptop & Projector
4. On the day of the course please ensure that the course number is given to each candidate and recorded in all logbooks. This is the only way the course can be traced if an issue arises and also the candidate will have to produce this number at the time of examination
5. Check all logbooks and membership cards to ensure that all candidates have the required qualifications to sit the course and also that they are insured to do so.
6. Collect all fee's due and send them into head office together with the course form. The money can be lodged directly into the CFT bank account but if this is done it is essential that you contact us with the bank reference number.

Examining on a course

Examiners please note

1. Ensure all candidates are certified and ready for examination
2. Ensure that they produce all relevant paperwork and that they are a current member of C.F.T.
3. When completing the Test form please include the candidates original course number beside their name. This is the only way we will be able to link candidates to the course.
4. Please send the form together with any fee's or other paperwork to Head Office together with any exam papers.
5. The Test form can be used to verify instructor’s expenses. Upon receipt of completed form the RDO will have to sign off on the form and therefore will approve the expenses as detailed on the form.
6. Each instructor will still have to apply separately for his or her expenses but the expense form will no longer require the RDO’s signature once the amount being applied for matches what was stated on the courses & test form.
7. Please ensure when applying for expenses for a course the course number is given.

Participating in a Course / Test

Candidates can ensure that their test runs smoothly and that their qualifications are processed by Head office without delay of they adhere to the following guidelines

1. Please ensure you turn up on time for the course/ test
2. Please ensure you have all relevant material with you, this includes
• Course / Test Fee
• Up to date log book
• In date C.F.T. membership card
• Sign Off Docs if appropriate
• Letter of recommendation from DO if appropriate
• Any equipment needed
3. If you are being tested please ensure you have the course number with you

Trainee & Club Diver Examinations

1.  As candidates sit the appropriate test a test form quoting the clubs trainee or club diver application number should be quoted
2. SIGN OFF DOCUMENTS MUST BE SENT IN WITH APPLICATION OTHERWISE IT WILL NOT BE PROCESSED
3.  This form together with any fees should then be sent to head office by the candidtes or diving officer
4. Once Head office have received the form, fee and sign off documents the cert will then be processed.
